Kendal Mountain Festival - 2018 Snow Night
It’s the biggest outdoor festival in the UK. And yet, Kendal Mountain Festival has always had a slightly ambivalent relationship to the world of snow sports.
So when Kendal’s organisers asked us to transform the festival’s place within the world of winter sports, we spotted an opportunity.
We decided to take their flagship Saturday evening Snow Night and completely revamp it.
In came new partnerships from key industry players, and live appearances from winter sports legends such as Olympic medallist Billy Morgan and his coach Hamish McKnight, who gave the crowd a unique insight into exactly what it took to win Olympic bronze during a live onstage Q&A.
On screen, we premiered Ode to Muir, Jeremy Jones’ latest opus, and invited World Freeride Tour snowboard champion Anne-Flore Marxer to discuss the gender equality issues raised in her award-winning film A Land Shaped by Women.
Above all, we positioned this pre-season event as THE key gathering for the ski and snowboard industry, helping to reinvent the idea of Kendal for this key outdoor market and cement its reputation as the UK’s must-attend outdoor event.
