Nokia Transitions

#ACM095 Communication Content Misc Strategy

At the time - way back in 2013 - Nokia Transitions was our biggest, most ambitious content project yet. It was a multi-agency, multi-media epic that tested all our production, creative, copywriting and PR skills.

The gig was simple enough. Create the ultimate outdoor road trip itinerary and document the whole thing using only Nokia's innovative new Lumia handsets (hey, this was 2013) to record the entire odyssey.

We decided to spend two weeks road-tripping around New Zealand, covering the Land of the White Cloud's rich action sports and outdoor heritage. At the end of the trip, we documented the whole thing on a supremely progressive, bespoke website. In between, we produced the trip, filed 10,000 words of copy, set up media partnerships with the Guardian, ran a worldwide PR and marketing campaign, oversaw collabs with partner agencies in Finland, and generally helped to deliver a ground-breaking and truly immersive content experience that still looks ahead of its time today.

A true job of a lifetime. But don’t just take our word for it. Our work on Transitions won us recognition in the form of a Valuable Content Award, and saw the site cited as an Official Webby Honoree for Best Use of Photography. Check out the site here to see for yourself.

Like every film in the Transitions project, this edit from Kaikoura was entirely filmed using Nokia Lumia handsets.
